Alzheimer’s Support Group

How many times have you felt like no one could really understand what you are going through trying to do what you can for your parent with Alzheimer’s?
Have you felt like there is just no way to keep up with your professional responsibilities AND meet the needs of family?
I know when my Mom started showing symptoms over three years ago, I could find information everywhere but what was really most helpful was connecting with others who were going through the same experience.
I had to get creative with the operation of my business in order to keep everything moving and growing. In response to the needs I was hearing from professional women in this situation I’ve developed a program that has these benefits:
- increased productivity in a shorter amount of time
- renewed energy with adequate sleep, nutrition, and exercise
- improved communication with family members and medical personnel
- some peace of mind from acceptance of the reality of the disease
When I decided to direct my coaching and consulting to support professional women who have a parent with Alzheimer’s, my first thought was to create a monthly fr.ee call for women to gather to learn and share. This is how the Alzheimer’s Disease Telephone Support Group began.
I also offer support in the form of individual and group coaching.
The fre.e calls are on the second Monday of every month at 5:30 pm Pacific/8:30 pm Eastern time. Getting together in person would be even better, but it can be more difficult to connect that way.
It may be challenging for you to have the time away from your work and personal responsibilities. Wouldn’t it be delightful to connect in the comfort of your home – even in your pajamas?
Having the telephone connection also allows people from all over the globe to connect. The word telephone comes from the Greek language: “far” and “voice”. Even though our voices are far away from each other, we can be close by connecting on a teleconference bridge line that allows a number of people to call onto the same line.
This is a time for sharing, supporting, and learning. We meet on a special phone line that allows quite a number of people to call in at the same time. There is no extra charge for this conferencing ability. It is just your normal long distance charge if the bridge line is not in your calling zone.
You can participate in the discussion or just listen in. Each month on the Alzheimer’s Disease Telephone Support Group we have a different focus for our conversations. If you are interested in receiving information about the calls, please enter your information below.
You’ll receive the phone number and any updates about the calls. All calls are at 5:30 Pacific/8:30 Eastern time.
