Baby Roses-A Sweet Reminder of Mom

By Suzanne Holman • June 16th, 2010

I never thought this plant would bloom again!

These are baby roses from a plant that I originally gave to Mom as a gift in a little pot. After the plant appeared dead, I planted it in my yard and it has grown into quite a beautiful rose bush.

Mom died in November after traveling the Alzheimer’s Disease journey for nearly four years.

I have such heart-warming memories of Mom when  I pamper and enjoy these beautiful roses!

Mom always loved  flowers.  She always had a big garden of flowers as well as vegetables as we were growing up.  When she no longer could have big beds of flowers, she then planted big pots with red geraniums and white petunias.  They were near her front door along with the United States flag that she put out on a daily basis.

I just know she’s enjoying seeing the beauty of these little roses that are flourishing now that they are free from that little pot….  Hmmmm   Perhaps Mom is similar to that rose plant.  With the ravages of Alzheimer’s Disease, she was just fading away…  Now I see her Spirit so alive and glowing!
